This cake…. wow…. I don’t know where to start. First of all, this is a cake that is very popular in Serbia (where I’m from originally). My mom used to make it a lot, but I never really tried to make it myself until couple of months ago. This was one of those things that you assume you can’t do, that you’re just not made to do something as complicated as this. I was so wrong. And I’ve learned an important lesson and I want to share it with you: YOU CAN DO WHAT EVER YOU SET YOUR MIND TO. It’s not just a phrase, it’s the truth!
As soon as I stopped doubting myself (I had really low self-esteem) great things started to happen! I remember I was approaching every problem with so much fear, with the thought “I can’t do it,” or “this is too complicated for me,” or “I am going to embarrass myself.” I feel so liberated right now because I let all these feelings go. Trust me, it is soooo much better to move forward, pursuing your dreams, even when you go through few embarrassments along the way. Keep moving forward 🙂 OK, let’s get back to the cake 🙂 I don’t even know why I was so intimidated by it. This is a normal cake, but amazingly delicious! It’s made out of sour cherry and chocolate whipped cream, and a light crust.
And THIS cake was my first order here in USA :D! Of course, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t change some things from the original recipe :). I really hope you will enjoy this cake :).
